Coast and Country Housing & livin 2013-2016
VEC have been involved in perhaps the most and also most recent GI Strategies and Projects in the North East.
We have coordinated the implementation of GI Strategies as well as producing stand alone strategies and projects for Social Housing Developers. Prior to this we have undertaken the coordination and production of GI Strategies for Tees Valley Unlimited and Durham County Council.
The below video shows one of the projects being delivered.......
Loftus Community & Coast and Country Housing, Redcar & Cleveland, 2015
In April 2015 a new Woodland Park in Loftus was opened by the Loftus Town Mayor. This new recreational and wildlife area was visioned, coordinated, project managed, consulted and designed by VEC.
We took a neighbourhood planning approach to ensure that the needs of the local community were fully built in.
The project has been nominated for a National Housing Federation Community Impact Award.
''This afternoon I took my two children aged 3 and 5 up to the new woodland area created by yourselves. We all had a fantastic time and spent over an hour in the beautiful space you have created.
The girls had a lovely time interacting with the space looking for worms, finding the bat and bird boxes, even running up and down the steps
I spoke to many other people during my visit who all stated what a wonderful idea it is to have created such a lovely space, how much better it is than the eyesore it once was.
Finally I would just like to congratulate yourselves and your team on a job well done and I'm sure I speak for other members of the community when I say thank you.''
