VEC were commissioned to provide a range of service to a Planning Consultant and Private Housing developer in County Durham.

We provided services including Landscape Appraisal, Green Infrastructure & Landscape Design and full masterplanning for the development including overall layout.

Our landscape planning work overturned a refusal on landscape grounds to an approval at Planning Committee in 2015, and we secured a lot more green infrastructure and landscape quality within the proposal

Landscape Concept Design

Four Seasons, Ulan Bataar for Gradon Architecture, 2015

Working with Gradon Architecture, VEC provided a series of concept designs as part of a concept design for the Four Season Development in Ulan Bataar in Mongolia.

Working within the 'Four Seasons' design brief, VEC provided hard and soft concepts for the development integrating Mongolian Steppe Landscape and Wildlife within a workable design.

VEC researched the Mongolian climate, species types and local environment to provide a number of design measures that met the brief but were practical in the harsh climate.

Landscape Management Plan

Balfour Beatty/ GMBC- Gateshead, 2016

VEC produced the landscape management strategy for the new Gateshead Energy Centre. We provided a set of management objectives and methods to secure the habitats and species on site for many years to come. Our management strategy approach has since been adopted by LPA officers.
